To update new passport's particular in REP via Singpass

Hi guys!

I’ve just renewed my passport last March.

And just found out recently during my Jakarta trip, when Singapore PR renewed its passport (with the new passport no/ particular/etc), they need to update it into the REP (Renewal Entry Pass) via sing pass online.

I don’t even remember why last time when I renewed my passport 5 years ago, this thing automatically updated or maybe I’ve already done it but forget already…Haiz, a memory of gold fish syndrome….

Why I need to update? So that when I go out and in to Singapore, I can just go fast pass (googled! The name is Automated Clearance System- ACS) without worrying too much. No need to queue up in the normal immigration clearance, yeah! talking about convenient!

So since I’m doing this, might as well I screenshot it step by step for future reference. (Remember the gold fish memory syndrome, hehe)

Maybe some of you already knew it or it ain't a new things to you. Hence this post, it’s kind of a reminder to me just in case, for the next 5 years (when I need to renew my passport again).

Hope their procedures won’t change by then.

First, go to this link:

Under main menu, login via sing pass

Then find, transfer of Re-entry Permit

And then, select Self

Fill in the new updated particular…and clicks proceed.

Last one, print out! It’s a new REP with updated passport details.

Done… easy peasy right!

Ok, hope this piece of information is useful! Thanks for reading!

The Benefits of Yoga (at least for me, a beginner Yogis)

Well, I’m not a hard core yogis (yet) but I do enjoy the benefit of doing yoga.

So far I do yoga once or twice a week.

and here’s the list of benefits that I’ve enjoyed so far:

  •  Build up the stamina.
Like any other exercise, be it cardio exercise such as jogging, aerobics, and swimming or even doing a simple stretching makes me alert and help to build my stamina up throughout the day. Especially in the recent hot and humid weather of Singapore, makes me feel so lethargic and sluggish with sweat (especially in the armpit area opssiee) all over the body.
I really love summer but minus the humidity, please.

  • Build and Tone up muscle.

Some of the pose seems easy peasy to do, but don’t be fooled!
It’s also extremely challenging and play big part to exercise our core muscle (like using abdominal strength and arm strength) . For instance, plank pose and side plank pose seems easy for me but when I do it for a straight one minute or two, (try it, challenge yourself!) OMG I'm dying to the max coz its really need to depend on hand/ shoulder/ core muscle strength!

Side note, What can I say, well.... I’m still in the progress of mastering downward dog and find it so challenging to straighten both parts of my body.
Hi yogis, any advice? The problem is, if I manage to straighten my back then my leg will bend automatically. and then, if I manage to straighten my leg (and bring my heels to the floor) then my back will automatically curve. Arrghh!!!! why can’t I straighten both!? "-_-"

  • Feeling so “Zen”.

I don’t know about you, but when I go gym, I found myself eating a lot of rubbish like burger or maybe a bowl of rice or any kind of carbs after gym session. I know it’s practically not good, especially for those who want to lose weight. But I don’t care, I feel like I’ve already done my part to do “hardwork” during gym session, so it’s time to pay off those “hardwork.” You know what I mean!?

But when I do yoga, the “Zen” or I can say, the consciousness feels so strong after yoga session.
Yoga practices mind-clarity and control of what I put on my body. including what I eat. And I want to keep it that way as long as possible. So I can tell, after yoga session, I found myself craving for healthy food such as fruits or salad (minus the dressing), and I am satisfied. J

Not only that, I found myself to easily stick to the healthy sleeping pattern. it’s easy to maintain a good quality of 8 hours sleep nowadays. I'm not too sure though...could it be from exhausted body after yoga session? Or again, could it be from a mind clarity of knowing that sleeping is good for my body, and I want to maintain those healthy lifestyle (sleeping as early as 10pm) as possible? J

  • More flexible.

They said:

"The more flexible you are, the healthier body you'll get."

"The longer you stretch your spine, the better stamina you'll get."

Again, "The longer you’re breathing, the longer your lifespan, too."

Well, I’m not too sure about this hearsay, but I believe in some ways of yoga practices, such as meditation and breathing techniques, contributed its benefit to our life.

What I can feel, is that, the longer breath that I can breathe, the more relaxation I will be. Moreover, it also somehow brings me to be more conscious about myself and to my surrounding.

Additionally, achieving flexibility is a progression thing as someone’s flexibility differs from one to another.

So my advice is, don’t compare yourself and try to listen to your own body.

Yoga should be forms of relaxation so don’t push your body too hard or you might risk of injuring yourself. It’s ok if your body cannot be bent like pretzel, just do pose comfortably. As time goes by, you will find yourself mastering certain pose (keep practising! It’s like telling me, one day, I can master downward dog so now I have to keep on practising! hehe)

  • Feeling good.

Okie this point still has correlation with point no 3.

Overall it’s because I feel more “Zen” due to the healthy lifestyle.

Eating well, sleeping well. More clear and clarity of mind. And I want to keep it that way!

It’s like over dosage of endorphin hormone from the inside out. As a result, I found myself more and more positive each day, and its impacted on my behaviour to the surrounding people.

Beauty is in the eyes of beholder but when someone’s happy from inside out, the beauty of her heart will reflect in her behaviour, agree?

So...practising yoga, is really benefiting to my life.

Where have you been, yoga , after all my 26 years of life!? I should've found you earlier :-)

Taylor Swift RED tour in Singapore

Yeay!

Another dream came true!

Although it’s literally damage my bank account but I’d do everything, just to watch Taylor Swift’s concert in Singapore. And I don't regret it! The concert was superb!

Seven time Grammy winner, most talented and fastest songwriter, multi-talented instruments player, young and good looking singer. One true package in this music industry!

.
.
.

A bit story here….

After I missed her concert in 2011 (her 2011's album, Speak Now), I was determined to go to her next concert of her next album, Red.

Well, I can say, getting her concert's ticket is one of the most nerve-wrecking moments that I’ve ever experienced!

.
.
.

So last year, after their announcement of Red tour will be held in Singapore, 12 June. The 1 day ticket sale (if I’m not mistaken it was around last Oct/ Nov) was sold out on the same day! Sadness!
Arrghhh…. disappointed! But I still register online as waiting list.

I’ve never thought that the concert will be held two nights, on 9 June and 12 June due to the Thailand’s concert cancellation.

Blessing in disguise.

Well...so being a waiting list, they give me priority ticket purchasing began that on the Friday, 30 May, starts at 10am, to book the ticket!

Very kancheong, that very Friday, I remembered I brought my Ipad to office and ordered online.LOL.

So a week prior to the concert, I am religiously listening to RED every day. LOL.

I bought CAT 1 seats which I regret it later, because, even the seats are near to the stage but it’s too near to the point that I can see clearly Taylor's red nail polish but still, it’s not a good position. Most of the time, she always go to the front of the stage and, we end up, only seeing her back!
(Let me show you the picture later)

I should’ve just bought another seat or standing one! Don’t mind to stand few hours for better point of view!

Picture time!

So excited, seeing the reflection of Taylor Swift!

Ta dah!! the star of the night!

See...she is walking to the front stage!

See!? now only can see her back only!

Like this, most of 70% of the show,
I always turned my head back and seeing her back from my point of view.
Haiz. Half disappointed la!

Again, her back! and red pants!
(to illustrate my disappointment :-( pay CAT 1 so expensive but not good view haiizzzz)

Well, but sometimes, can catch her very near too! like this!

So far this is my fave! finally can get her clear image!

OMG! It was magical night when she performed I felt like my heartbeat was stop for one and a half hour. Just to listen to her song and (ocassionally) sing a lyrics or two. Apparently no lip sync and her voice so powerful than the music record!

Most of the time I was busy taking pictures and video-ing (with my Samsung NX mini) and not really enjoying her performance to the max. I don't know about you, but for me (issit kiasuness!?) I would prefer to record and take tons of pictures, for the sake of this blog, hehe!!

Maybe next time I will just put down all my gadgets and enjoying her songs (next tour, ok!?)

So let me end this post with this:

My new Camera!!! Samsung NX Mini Pink

OMG!

I've been in love with my new lover!

Let me introduce my new toy!

Okie, a bit history here.

I've been falling in love with interchangable lens camera since I owned my Olympus EPL-3 last year!

I don't know why, but this interchangable lens idea, which can change the lens, plug, zoom, and shoot....this whole idea seems so appealing to me.

But I don't want to learn more about photography in a deep manner, well, it because:

1. lazy. 2. No time. 3. No memory left in my brain. 4. DSLR camera is so expensive and its only a hobby for rich people (definitely not my cup of tea!)

So what is A= Aperture, or S= Shutter, or M= Manual, or White Balance or whatever difficult vocabulary in photography module!? don't care la!

To put it simply, I just want to snap a picture, and able to edit beautify it, and then transfer it into my handphone or laptop! And oh! maybe a device which can take selfies, too!

So when I found this Samsung NX Mini. Pink colour!
OMG! I'm completely sold out (even before read the specs)
HAHA so shallow, right? I don't care!

Okie, here pictures before we go to technical portion
(ahem...I'm not try to act smart here)

Ta dah! Unboxing time!
uki uki

So this is inside the box

O mama mia holy cow! Look at those slim body!

Perfect for selfies!

Pretty camera deserves one more picture

Ok! specs!

Samsung NX Mini has 21 Megapixels, with 3-inch LCD touch panel display which can be flipped for selfies. The dimension is 110.4 X 61.9 X 22.5mm with weight only 158g, it's so lightweight and more like a point and shoot camera rather than interchangeable camera. There is a built-in flash and also an external flash which can be attached when taking picture in the dark environment. The best is Wi-Fi/ NFC function which enables you to share the photos or videos right after picture taken! So cool! This function enables not only transfer the photos to your smartphone, but to group sharing (up to 4 smartphone), auto backup to laptop wirelessly, SNS and cloud to upload files to cloud or Instagram or Facebook, etc. Remote Viewfinder to use smartphone as a controller to operate the camera, and Baby Monitor function which enables you to do live streaming video! See how cool is that!

Ok price!

Retail price with pancake lens (9mm) is $549 if I'm not mistaken. But I bought the one with 9-27mm zoom lens, retail price is $649.
Ok, but I got discount (also don't know why got discount maybe I was the last customer of the day LOL) and just paid $599 for 9-27mm lens! Not only that, the package is bundled with free tripod, white NX mini- casing, Samsung Micro-SD 8GB, and screen protector which they installed it at that point of purchase.

Went home and open up, found Adobe Lightroom 5 CD to be installed to my Mac! Now I'm learning how to use Lightroom, anybody can help?

So next post will be the review or tutorial on Samsung NX mini!
