To Be Thankful All the Time

Wah!

It's been 8 years since I stepped my footprints in Singapore.

Giselle has been growing (and still growing now) and it's like a blink of an eye! :-)

When I looked back, I knew there's no turning back but I have no regrets having a daughter in a such a young age. I'm looking forward for her to grow bigger and taller and wiser and older....To go salon together doing hair and nail....To go holiday together (Beach! Japan!) .... To go to Cafe and chill out or study or doing own things like sisters. HAHAHA....

I hope when she grows up, when she has her own world, she won't stood me up, going with her circle of friends...

I can imagine one day she'll say, Mommy, please don't follow me, I want to go with my friend/ boyfriend...hikkxxx...

Then I can imagine, I'm wearing Sherlock Holmes' famous hat and glasses, then sneakily follow her, hahaha like Private Detective like that! Ok, kidding!

Ok, anyhow, pictures time!

Talika Lopicil Expert eyelash serum

Hi guys,

It’s been two weeks since I’m trying Talika eyelash serum. The full name is Talika Lipocils Expert.

The product claims to be effective to grow more and thick eyelashes, in just 28 days!

I was like, seriously!?

So I challenge myself to use it religiously for 28 days, day and night, and hope to see the result soon...

When I use at night, I always have this feeling my eyes so heavy then quickly want to sleep and call it a day. In addition, day time, before I wear this serum, I always curl my eyelashes first and then apply this serum. Without fail, it always weighs my lashes down. So I can tell, the formula is heavy (but not thick consistency, though). It does weigh down my eyelashes so I don’t think it’s good to primer the lashes before mascara application. Hmm so far, after 2 week application, I can tell that my eyelashes thicker but still no new baby lashes come out!

Ok I was wrong! At first, I thought the heavy formula couldn't really function as an eyelash primer but nope! I was completely wrong.
The key is to apply this serum, wait until it dries (could be 5-10 mins time) and then, curl with eyelash curler and then apply normal mascara. The eyelashes will pick up every single mascara's formula without fail, make it natural curly effortlessly. So must apply the serum first, then curl. Not the other way round.

It has quite unique wand, tip-sponge applicator and the bristle brush.

How to apply:

  1. Clean eyes, apply the tip sponge applicator directly onto the roots of the lashes, like you are applying eye liner. Then with the bristle brush, apply directly onto the lashes.
  2. Additionally if you want to use it as an eyelash primer, you can wait few minutes, then curl with eyelash curler, continue with your favourite mascara.

Ok, to give you a little bit of background. Actually I have naturally long eyelashes but it’s a bit coarse and not that curl plus it’s pointing downwards. Perfect combination, huh.
Every time I want to make it curl, I just have to snap it with Shu Uemura eyelash curler and then coat it tons of mascara which can last for the whole day.

But the downside is, if I wear heavy mascara, my eyes getting really dry but my eyelid oily hence as a result, it will create inevitably smudge and panda eyes in the end of the day.
And then, heavy mascara meaning heavy eyes, too! I don’t like the feeling of having a constant eye shit like 24/7 or whenever I wear mascara.
Not only that, the best part is, when removing those heavy duty/ water-proof/ smudge-proof mascara, I tend to be impatient and tugging and rubbing and scrubbing and do every cleaning-actions that I could name of, and then it result my lashes falls out pretty badly!

In conclusion, I can tell my lashes always falls easily  (at least 1 or 2 pieces) every time I removed the mascara , so can you imagine if I do it every day, it’s like 1 eyelash  X 7 days= 7 pieces of eyelashes fell weekly? If I do it for a full month then no more lashes in my eyes already!

Ok a bit drama here, women are very complicated creatures, we always want to have a control of everything, including the hair growth in our body.

Don’t believe? Ok give you example.

How many girls’ wishes that we can don’t have growing hair on armpit and leg area? (That’s why we always shave that area including pubic hair weekly, right!?)

How many times in a month, we always find ourselves to pluck or trim the eyebrow, even spending dollars to make a trip to Browhaus?

Ohhhh.... how I’d wish I could control the hair growth in my body, then grow long long and curly curly eyelashes like a camel but no hair on armpit and leg area, hahaha.

Ok, that's all. Thanks for reading.

4 Things to take note when using Credit Card

Hi guys,

So the last time I wrote about how to manage credit card, it was like 2 years ago!? The post, here

Today discussion is about 4 things to take note, before using credit card.

Opss before that, DISCLAIMER:  I hope this article will help you in some way. I ain’t no finance expertise or bank officer or something like that, so seriously, these are purely based on my own experience.

Ok, move on....

Those old years, credit card was like a luxury things. When you had it, you may be considered as rich/ wealthy person. You own something luxury and life style. But now, seems like everybody has more than 2 credit card, agree!?

As a result, many people don’t really understand the importance of having credit card, abuse it, and the worst, snowballing down the hill, called debt.

So to avoid the pitfalls, here’s 4 things to take note to be taken note.

  • Know your limits and the way you shopping

If you abuse your credit card so that you can buy your “dream outfit’, “dream gadget”, or “dream anything else”, u better had to stop dreaming.

Yes there are lots of offers out there with 0% free interest and instalment up to 12 and 24 months. It’s good, no harms to take up this deal but my advice is that, take 1 instalment at a time. Don't be greedy and full of yourself. Example, if you’ve just bought a gigantic DSLR camera and are bound to finish paying up for 12 months instalment. Wait until you finish paying up that camera first before decided buying another gadget (which is 12 months later). The key point is take one step at a time.

  • Check how much your bank interest rate is. Find the lowest one.
Normal rates are is 24% per annum but if you feel like it’s very troublesome to check those rates thingy, make an effort to always pay your monthly bill without fail. No paying at minimum payment please,  because it will incurred the interest charges/ late penalty fee which unnecessary, to pay.

  • Check how much limits and total amount of the card.
My advice is that; take up to 2 X salary so at least if you overspending, you still have a chance to clear your debts easily.  From my experience many banks will give you cash loan up to 5 X salary but what’s the point if the money is bank loan not my money, do you get my point?

Limit your credit card by having 1 credit card per bank. Keep in your wallet 1 or 2, the card that you often use, and the rest, keep it at home. When you're applying credit card and they persuade you to apply more, just politely say no. It's fine.

Well, it’s good to have 1 Visa and 1 Mastercard especially for travelling purposes, too. Or maybe 1 American Express if you could afford....

The key point is, paying cash is much better than paying by credit card. And owning tons of credit card doesn’t mean that you are rich or something. Nothing to be proud about.

  • Promo and reward
One of the advantages of having credit card is of course, promo and rewards. That's one of my favourites. Buying online is such a click away. Buying or dining is very easy coz you don't need to find ATM to withdraw cash first. You can collect rewards point, too, if the merchant has partnership and promo program.

If you like travelling, why don’t sign up for Tiger AIr Standard Chartered CC to earn point and enjoy travel perks?

If you like to dine in, Manhattan Standard Chartered CC is best suit for you.

Aunty likes to go NTUC, can sign up NTUC Plus! OCBC CC to earn link points and enjoy 8% off Fairprice purchase.

Likes to shop, ladies? Maybe UOB Lady's Card is the best for you, girls. Lots of promotion such as Charles & Keith, Forever 21, Bysi, and many many more. Not only enjoy the promo but you can earn UNI$, too.

So evaluate your lifestyle and own the credit card which suit best on you :-)

Till next time. Ciao.
