The Power of A Praying Kid

This book is good! The Power of A Praying Kid by Stormie Omartian.

The book package is for kids. I believe Giselle can't read this yet so I read it for her.
Easy to understand and more straightforward. If you have pri-school kids who loves to read ( and love God), this book is recommended.

The book teaches us that God is near, He listen to our prayer, even our simplest, smallest, softest prayers :-) So kids, don't be afraid to pray.

Praying means talking to God. Do it casually everyday basis, it will pleases God. Do it quietly and in orderly manner (such as knee down and bow head), it will honour God.

So prayer is not only for big adult like us. It 's for kids, too. Below are the verses that speak to me
:-)

Thanksgiving time

I don't know about you, but I feel, every time I exercise thanksgiving in my daily life, I feel huge wave of gratitude and then find myself happier and less complaint. Is it a power of thanksgiving?

Likewise thanksgiving exercise, every time I do prayer, even if its just short prayer like, God, help me! Strengthen me throughout the day. Or long prayer such as Novena prayer. It is somehow refreshes me, change me (especially my heart and attitude). As a result, it really calm me down and ta dah! I'm ready to face the world.

You know, this kind of feeling whereby the situation still remain the same but I still feel contented and peace despite any kind of circumstances that I'm facing. I think I'm going crazy.

Last week, I encountered an unfavourable situation. I really super duper hate this kind of situation whereby, people take an advantages of me, take all the credits when I was the one who do, who have done it with an extra mile. But after a little bit drama inside my mind, I prayed. Asked God for help. For his mercy. For his peace. And yep. Peace is what I felt after that.
Today, when I'm reading this, I was like. ha ha...it's true. Without God, It's impossible. But with God, everything is possible. Including fixing me, my mind plus my attitude. all the time. :-D
I am a kind of person who always believe that the strongest enemy is myself. So, God, fix me :-)

Thanks, Lord. For the short yet simple teaching, through my everyday's life.
Teach me and walk beside me every single day of my life.

Amen.

Acne and Rosacea by Alison Bowser

Hi, I've been in the deep-soul searching about acne.

Found this book in the library, it's really enlighten me on how the acnes can really cause troubled in people's life, even cause social problem and suicidal. Here in this book, reveals, why acnes can be formed, what causes acne, how can our lifestyle affects our skin, and what vitamins or supplements can help us to combat acnes. Oh love!

So few points that I learnt from this book:

1. Acnes, spots, pimples, zits, bumps. It's all the same thing. Blockage in our pores where there is no oxygen in the pores, attracts bacteria plus dirt plus sebum which slowly but sure, form acne.

2. It's not good to pick on acne. Remember golden rules when squeezing acne. Squeeze when the time is right! meaning ripe-acne, yellowish papule surface the skin = ready to be squeezed. If you don't see this papule yet, apply tea-tree oil, blemish spot cream or treatment to make it ripe/ dry.

3. Wash face thoroughly. Make a habit to double-cleanse. Cleaning face with cleansing oil and then with facial cleanser. Twice a week exfoliate with damp face cloth or chemical peeling such as facial scrub or *ahem* Clarisonic. DO NOT OVER EXFOLIATE because it will dries up the skin, make false alarm to our pores that the skin needs more *oil* to moisturises the skin and then produce more sebum. More sebum means more oily. Remember to moisturises skin after a good cleanse. Not because you have oily skin you don't need to moisturise. Choose oil-free and non-comedogenic moisturiser. Oily skin type people, standby blotting paper to use throughout the day.

4. For oily type skin, can do twice a week clay based mask treatment. Its to suck out all the impurities and remove dead cell skins in order to prevent blockage. I like to do mask treatment in the night coz it's always soothes the skin, makes my skin and mind happy. Talking about giving your skin a good treats after a long suffering day at office :-)  Kill 2 birds with one stone. Once a month facial is also good, too. :-)

5. Eat more healthy stuff such as veggie, complex carbo, and nuts. Supplements such as zinc, vit A, C, E good for skin. Omega 3 (think about cod liver oil) is good as this contains anti-inflamantary agents. Thinking about what you eat is what you are. Eat junk-food then your skin become *junk. Eat healthy-food then your skin will thank u you. I'm still adjusting my taste buds to oatmeal and unsweetened yogurt, tries to eat more complex carbo and fiber such as oatmeal, brown rice, fruits, and etc. Organic fruits can be a choice too if you can afford coz it's cost a bomb :-(
Good news! If you have insomnia and couldn't sleep in the middle of the night. Tried oatmeal plus honey (for sweet taste) plus dried raisins or cranberries. Or drank a non-fat milk. It contains amino acid tryptophan, to boost a good night sleep.

6. Keep active and stay relax. DO some EXERCISE such as running, aerobics, yoga, and swimming. ALL CADIO EXERCISE IS GOOD. Thinking about the good feeling after a good run and sweating all those stuffs! Sweating means releases all toxic through the pores. Exercise releases endorphin hormones which is why you feel good about yourself after exercise! So put on your sport shoes and run, girl! :-)
Oh ya I heard from my yoga teacher last time, the more human can breath longer, the more relax it is and it can prolongs the life-span of ours. :-)

By the way,  we had a sister gathering, sushi-making and steamboat time! spent few hours to make a good sushi, chit-chat, sister's bonding time :-)

Oh...how I miss this Japanese MOS Burger! Yummy!

Me annual visit to Jakarta

As usual. After my sister visit to Singapore. It's time for me to visit them.

Normally I don't really keen to visit Jakarta but this time round, I decided to go home to attend Iin's wedding. ahem my ex- best friend.

Still friend lah hah but not that close anymore. In spite of that, I still attend her wedding coz I want to. No obligation. No force. I just want to be a witness of her big day and that's what friends are for, rite?

Oh ya she was the one who introduced me to the church and then she was there during my very down time. She supported me, she consoled me, she pulled me up. Really. Thanks, sis. If you happen to read this. I still remember at the back of my mind, when you were there, listening to my sorrow. When you were there, giving some advices. When you were there, didn't judge, but to hear silently and be *bucket* for me. I feel like you were my sibling sister in my previous life. ha ha.

Ok, back to the topic,  Jakarta trip. Nothing much, Just eat, meet my family, eat again, meet friends, eat again, meet relatives, eat again, and sleep. Ahhh I managed to sneak in to Fitness First Grand Indonesia using my sister's pass. Secara we're look alike only I a bit tall from her by 0.00001 inch. :-D Even Giselle pun confuse often mistaken me as her or she as me. Understood?

My flight was on Thursday night. Reached Jakarta airport at 8pm plus and my mother fetched me up. We took cab which innocently brought us around PIK (Pantai Indah Kapuk), see some hospitals and eating places nearby there and then go to my house at Cengkareng. WTF wrong toll exit means extra another few thousand of Rupiahs. Thanks, cab driver. But ok ah since 1 SGD is around Rp.7800 so I forgive him. Kidding. Reached at home at 11plus. Home sweet home.

Next morning, I followed my sister go to her office. And spent the whole day at GI Grand Indonesia. Literally. The whole day. First thing in the morning, I sneaked in to Fitness First and do some work-out. Just tried various of machines, I don't even have time to catch up the class yet. Alamak, I just realised no photos when gym-ing time but the scenery is quite good from there. Imagine when you work-out, running on treadmill, watch cable TV plus enjoying the scenery of Bundaran HI and the busy-ness of Jalan Sudirman. Time flies very fast I don't even have to *struggle* to finish my 200 calories treadmill-programme. And then finished it with 15 mins sauna. My life is complete. :-D

And then breakfast with mom at GI. And met my colleagues at GI too, having lunch at food court at the same place where I had my breakfast. After lunch, finding omiyage for Giselle, shopping for cousin's birthday present, go salon to dye my hair *ahem* black. It supposed to be dark brown but it turns out black. :-(  Having frozen yogurt tea-break, dinner, bla bla bla....Ultimately, we catch a night movie, World War Z at Blitz. Let's the pictures rolling....
