Job 6:10

Job 6:10

"But it is still my consolation, and I rejoice in unsparing pain, that I have not denied the words of the Holy One. "

This verse made me staggered and taught to myself, that is true! When trials and obstacles come to your way, as inevitably they will, do not run away and do not be discouraged. Run to your God and Father and put your faith in the foot of the cross.

Give me oil in my lamp, I pray

I bet you know this children christian Song, Give me oil in my lamp.

The lyric goes like this:

Give me oil in my lamp, keep me burning
Give me oil in my lamp, I pray
Give me oil in my lamp, keep me burning
Keep me burning till the break of day

Sing Hosanna, Sing Hosanna, Sing Hosanna to the King of Kings
Sing Hosanna, Sing Hosanna, Sing Hosanna to the King

So one fine day, Giselle is singing this song in front of me and Sofia, her friend. When she sang the Hosanna part, suddenly Sofia is asking a question. The conversation went like this:

S: Jie jie, what is Hosanna? ( she is asking the meaning of Hosanna)
G: err...pause awhile..

With full confidence, she proudly explained.

G: Hosanna meaning...horse...sana...you know horse...!? (then she mimics horse, galloping like a horse)

Me almost fainting plus laughing non stops...no wonder why everytime she sings Hosanna always have "r" sound. Something like Horrsana.... :-D

Soon after, I proudly explained to both of them, Hosanna meaning praise to the God, when you sing a song to God, God will be very happy.

Both of them like don't even care of my explanation or nor really understand about it, continued to sing Hosanna song happily. What an innocent toddler, eh!

Since they are pretty young, I just try my best to teach and get them to familiarize with any children christian song. When they grow up, they'll soon understand the meaning behind it...For the time being, I am quite satisfied with the facts that I am teaching a basic of Christianity, cum having fun teaching a song at the same time! There'll be more songs to come! :-D

TGIF 17-2-2012

First of all, TGIF eveyone!!!!

I am sitting in office right now, with emails and papers piling up everywhere...LITERALLY....I feel like so many things to do, so little time....I feel like screaming like a banshee. :-D

Telling to myself to pause for awhile, here is the verse for the day.

Romans 6:4

Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life.

When I read this verse, its simple yet carrying a very strong message, It's a proof that We, as Christian have a privilege, have a promise that is from God only. Having said that, we need to cling onto this promise. Amen.

Cervical Cancer Vaccination

Talking about reality, do you know that cervical cancer is the second best killer to women? ( yeah, the first one is breast cancer). Its unavoidable and its only attack women. So, Let's talk about this deeper, women.

What cause of cervical cancer?

Human papillomavirus or known as HPV is the main cause of cervical cancer. Cancer starts in the cervix, the lower part of uterus, which is the bridge to vagina. There are no significant symptoms unless you going pap smear screening. This is only to detect early stage of cancer.

How to prevent it?

There is no scientific advice on how exactly to prevent cervical cancer. Sadly said, high risk to a women who has cancer history in her family. However, we believe that all kind of diseases won't pay us a visit if we really practice healthy lifestyle. As you know, healthy lifestyle contain balance diet, eat fibres, sleep well, and exercise regularly. On the top of that, to reduce the risk, you are encouraged to do: get a regular pap smear, practice healthy safe sex life (for cripe's sake, be faithful to your partner and use condom, please).........and the best alternatives of it all is....... get a vaccination.

Cervical Cancer Vaccination

There are two types of vaccination:

1. Gardasil
Gardasil is the only vaccine that helps to protect against 4 types of HPV. Types 6 and 11 which 90% cause genital warts and types 16 and 18 which 70% cause cervical cancer. Gardasil has been approved by Singapore HSA (Health Science Authority) since 2006. Fortunately, I received inoculation about a year later :-D       The jab itself given in first month, third month, and sixth month.

2. Cervarix
Cervarix is vaccine that helps to protect against 2 types of HPV. Types 16 and 18 which cause 70% cervical cancer. Cervarix has been approved by Singapore HSA since 2007. The jab itself given in first month, second month, and sixth month.

The process of inoculation.

The jab given at left upper hand. There are side effects such as slight aching, slight soreness, nausea, headache, or even fainting. That is why, its recommended to rest or at least sit down for 15 minutes right after the jabs. For me personally, I am quite fortunate that I didn't really experience these extreme side effects.
Please consult doctor before having jabs. It's good to have discussion with your doctor, as they are the best person to accommodate your queries.
Recommended for women age 10 to 35 years old.
Not recommended for preggie women and women who plan to conceive.

Remember that doing vaccination will only prevent cervical cancer. Yet it is still recommended to do pap smear screening once every three years. Good news for PR and Singaporean, Government subsidised a pap smear programme, known as CSC (Cervical Screen Singapore) .  This is to encourage women aged 25 years and above to go for pap smear screening with affordable price.

John 15:5-7

I feel God is always speaking to me in so many ways. Like today, when I read e-bulletin, He nudged me gently by showing me this verse. God is good, yeah!?

Verse of the day: John 15:5-7

5 I am the vine, you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruits, apart from me, you can do nothing. 6 If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers, such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. 7 If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish and it will be done for you.
