Bali- Day 2

Bali Day 2

Day 2 in Bali, fall on 17 August. It's actually Indonesia's independence day. Like any other patriotic typical Indonesian, instead of attending ceremony in nearby school/ embassy, we all went around the city enjoying the smooth traffic due to public holiday. First time experience of *not*stuck*in*the*traffic*jam*in*Bali* for the first time....ever....

Having Renting a car on our own, we drove around the city for a day.

Tell ya, going to the beach wouldn't be complete before having, or buying Havaianas sandal. :-D

Havaianas Outlet Store @ Sunset Road, Kuta.

Happy Mind.
Happy Feet.

 New Havaianas sandal- Rp. 239,000
With this, total I have 3 pairs of Havaianas.
:-D

My mother was like, what!? so expensive for a pair of sandal!!

You know, the first Havaianas sandal that I bought was 3 years ago, the pink one, bought together with Nita. I'm still wearing that till now and proud that it's still in good condition!

For lunch we went to Warung Babi Guling Ibu Oka @ Ubud.

This type of eating place, whereby you order, eat, pay, and go.
No quality time to eat or even having a chit-chat or something like that.

Nasi Babi Guling (Suckling Pig/ Pork)

The second round, we proceed to Nuri's to have scrumptious pork ribs.

 Nuri's @ Ubud, Bali
Even Julia Roberts has been here before to savour this delicacy!

The open barbecue pit at the road side.
The very thick of special sauce+ pork ribs

Pork ribs
The meat easily falls right off the bone.
Very tasty and addictive.

Okay, actually after the second lunch, we don't have any plan to go. We've been thinking about visiting monkey forest @ Ubud. But because me and my sister have been there before (during study tour) and actually there is nothing much to see there other than greedy, violent, and ugly monkeys so we decided to go back to hotel. Dammit! We should have suggested to visit Kintamani or Sukawati or travel all the way to the north of Bali but because of limitation on the GPS/ navigation/ guts/ stamina and all the stuff so we hold this crazy ideas and try another adventurous ideas.

Yep! this is our "another adventurous ideas"
Bali Ocean Spa which cost us Rp. 950,000/ 2 pax
Located nearby, just few minutes walk away.

What a huge bathup for 2

Preparing for 2 hours- spa

When me and my sis are having our holy relaxing 2 hours spa, the rest of the group just staying at hotel, swimming, and having a good rest. See...very adventurous, right.....

Dinner time, we went to Queen's Tandoor, Indian cuisine.

Located at Jalan Seminyak, more info click here

Nan

Okay, what's the different between Roti Prata and Nan?

Prata (or Paratha) is Indian bread made from whole wheat flour cooked in Indian flat pan frying
Nan (or Naan) is Indian bread made from white flour baked in stone-oven
Whatever. BOTH also good.

Nasi Briyani and Curry Mutton

Okay, that's day 2 in Bali....eat eat and eat....Happy (belated) Independence day, to all Indonesian...

Pineapple Puff Pastry

Last sunday after Sunday School, Giselle attended baking class again.
If you are wondering about the price. One time session is about $50 but if you buy package 10X session is $300. Meaning the more you buy, the cheaper it is.

Okay, it's time to make.....

Pineapple Puff Pastry

As usual, after wear apron, chef hat, wash hands and all the stuff.
Not to forget to pose before the class started.

Yeay, I am going to make Pineapple puff for mummy
*heart melts*

First step, cut the pastry margarine into small pieces. Don't worry, they used the plastic knife, you know, the one we used to spread the butter on the bread)
Mix with the plain flour....manually with hands.....

mix mix mix
*lucky already wash hands just now*

Then, add 2 Tbsp of cold water and 1 Tbsp of lemon juice into the bowl.
Scrunch the flour until it become a dough- like

Then roll roll roll your dough....

I find some steps are not really meant for a 5 years old kid yet.
E.g. rolling dough and cut it into square-shaped will definitely need help from the teacher.
If only teachers are attentive enough....I think in 1 class could only have max 4 kids with 2 assistants. The less kids the better, though.

Then put the pineapple (cut into pieces already) and fold triangle shaped.
Put in the tray.
Spread some butter and egg yolk and sprinkle some sugar on it. It's to give some crunchy- top coat
Ready for bake.

Baked for about 30 mins.
I could not get tired of admiring this oven again and again.

Well done
It is yummie!

Yeay! I can join Junior Masterchef!

Okay, for those who don't know, Junior Masterchef Australia is cooking competition, which aired every Tuesday @8pm in OKTO channel. The kids range from 8 to 12 years old cooks from around Australia, gathered to compete in Junior Masterchef. Catch up the programme it's really interesting to watch! You'll be amazed on how superb the kitchen is....And how young kids can make a very scrumptious meal. *ashamed to myself...LOL*

Okay, that's all.
Ciao!

Matchbox Twenty! is Back!

Matchbox twenty is back!

With the new album, entitled "North", will be released on Sept 4th...

With the first single,  She's so mean.

Enjoy the video!

When I found out this Matchbox twenty reunited, made a record, release album and all the stuff, my memory just flash back. Very quickly.

I still remember at the back of my mind, their last album, " More than you think you are" (2002) and "Mad Season" (2000) . They are my fave rock band when I was still in secondary school! I used to sing these "Bent", "Disease", " Mad Season", and "Unwell", idolize how cool and talented Rob Thomas is, memorize ALL the lyrics by my heart and soul. Love your song! MB2!

Quoted from Rob, " I want...It's been 16 years since our first records, and I still captured on the radio, and heard "3AM". which is something from our first records. I want....this song (the new song), in the 16 years from now, I want this song to be stand up to that, too. I want, you know, to be heard in classic rock radio.

Yesss....Now 12 years has passed. They are back! MB2, please do world tour and come to Singapore. :-D

Bali trip- Day 1

Bali trip- Day1

Reached Bali at noon time.  Still very much excited, I zoomed to the hotel by cab. Paid about Rp.80,000 after bargaining here and there....Here in Bali, (even in Jakarta, okay, I'm not subjective), bargaining for the cab's fare is a MUST. You've gotta bargain for your cab's fare before you jump into the car, simply because airport taxi doesn't want to use taximeters. From Ngurah Rai Airport to The Seminyak Village is about 45 minutes.

The Seminyak Village is located in Jalan Beraban 888X , Banjar Taman, Seminyak. 10 minutes walk from Jalan Oberoi which The Seminyak Square and many restaurants, spas, shops, and bars located.

After lunch, we went to Kuta for a walk. I did a massage which cost me Rp.50,000 for 30 minutes. Such an affordable prices coz I had a massage + good quality talk with my mum + enjoy Kuta's beaches at the same time. Now you know how multi-task I am !?

Bali...here I come....

This is a scheduled post.

By the time you read this post, I am on my way to airport, ready to take off to Pulau Dewata.

I've been counting days to my holiday trip and couldn't wait any longer to start it asap.

One fine day in the office, boring day, as usual. I made this handmade word art, in order to lift up my mood.

Bali....here I come!

Show off my new nails...okie this one is normal polish
OPI pinky thingy ( I forget what's the name)
Dammit it's very fragile, it's been a week now and the polish starts to chipped off!
How I hate normal nail polish!
:-(

Okay.
Before I knock off the day, I've already done my list to do at office:

- Put out of office reply.
-Put msn messages.
- Inform my big major customers
- Finished all the big major projects. No more complaining, please.
- Hand over to my colleagues.
-Take vouchers+ gift (incentive from Adobe)
- Clean up my table.

PLUS

- Warn my annoying colleagues, whom I foresee he will come, sit, borrow/ use my stationery/ phone then never put back to the original position, and (sometime) littering. Seriously. Thick-face one. I swear. Based on my personal experience!
After told him off JUST before I go off ( yeah! I am so mean! WHATEVER!)  I made this reminder note.

Please...
Don't touch/ move/leave anything at my desk! Thanks!
Put this note in front of my monitor.

Please...
LOG OFF after using my phone! Thanks!
Put this note in front of my Alcatel- phone.

Just in case you're wondering, YES! I have 2 monitors. 1 for SAP and 1 for outlook. Sometime I use it for browsing internet, too hehehe...Btw, my office phone requires log on/ off like in the call centre like that.

After that, went to Tony Roma's @ Suntec for dinner.
Using StandChard's voucher. Thanks, Mel.

St Louis-Style Ribs. Tony Roma's Red Hot.

Okay, don't mistaken me, I've never ever thoughts of owning a branded watch in my whole entire life, like Rolex or Gucci or even Guess. I'm just not that into watch!

The other day, my sister's colleague, asked me to check the price of Rolex Women's watch. She wanted to know how much the market price here in Singapore. So I did her a favour, I went to ION Orchard and have it a look, took a picture some more! Thanks for the friendly sales assistance, Good service! :-D
