These few weeks, my love tanks is full. Yep, full of love of God.
He's been speaking to me constantly, through bible, through friends, through prayer, through quiet time (ahem...sometime).
Thanks God for this love. Your unfailing love. So here's the list of my gratitude. As you can see in my title post, We need a shepherd, needn't we?
Before we jump into this, firstly, I want to give thanks to my shepherd, Yanting, for a constant reminders, messages, concerns, sharing, openness, and hmm...everything....basically....ooh ya, thanks for your dinner treats *ahem* and constant initiative for meeting up every alternate week, too. Appreciate it very much. So this verse is for you, John 10. Let's read up when we meet next yo!
Okay, last time comes thru my minds, what is a shepherd for and what is the shepherding all about?
The bible says the shepherd takes a good care of his sheep night and day, they will protect and guide the sheep, avoid them from any harms such as wolves and thieves....and Jesus is the ultimate of the best shepherd (of course la). So I can say, in this modern context, shepherd is the person who will guide the sheep. spiritually and emotionally. WOW.
So shepherding can be pretty flexible. It can be meet up to catch each other life, it can be bible study, it can be sharing session, it can be just a dinner or lunch or shopping (love!) or hang out together, enjoying each other company...I think...Fun, right?
To take it to the next level, me and Yanting will meet up shepherding, not only for sharing our weeks or story, but also for a bible reading and doing some short and sweet discussion, too! Wow! So excited!
In fact, last week, we met up over dinner and turns our bible ( hers is bible-book and mine is bible- samsung, haha) into 1 Timothy 6:1-10 , which it's about the false teachers and the love of money.
What I like about bible verse reading cum discussion is because, even when we read the same material, we will encounter different point of view and understanding. Different verses will speak the most to our hearts. And from there, we can share our opinion and exchange knowledge cum understanding about that particular verse, and ultimately, will increase our faith towards God.
Give you an example. In Timothy, 6:1-10, verse 10 speaks the most to me, it about the love of money which will bring disaster and makes us out of focus. Money itself is neutral but the love the obsession of money is a root of all kinds of evil.
For her, verse 6 speaks the most to her, while Godliness with contentment is a great gain, we, as a human being is complete with God's presence, our creator alone.
And lots of discussion which was very interesting but I couldn't reveal all here. Lots of open sharing and opinion being spoken and being taught as well. Indeed, what a wonderful feeling to know that we have friends to grow together with. Amen.
