Phuket Holiday in Dec 2011- Day 1

Phuket Phuket....here we come...Today we are flying to Phuket for a short holiday gateway.

Day 1: Phuket- Safari Beach Hotel

Flying to Phuket from Singapore took 1.5 hours flight and the weather was quite good. Thanks, God...for a smooth weather and pleasant flight though I slept for the whole flight, hahaha...We reached Phuket International Airport at about 11am, found cab to take us to Safari Beach Hotel in Patong. Cab fee from International Airport to Patong is THB 900 and the journey was like 45 minutes. On the way to hotel, I felt it was like going home ( my home town is Jakarta), the hot *stinging* weather, the electricity pole (tiang listrik isn't it the correct translation!?), how messy the power cable tangled to each other and wonderfully tied to the electricity pole, people rides motor bike without helm or jacket, tuk tuk ( well its like *metromini* - public transport in Jakarta). Feels like home! :-D

Reached hotel, checked in our baggage, we strolling to nearby hotel area to feed our starving stomach...could not find a good restaurant, we decided to have a quick lunch in McDonald nearby hotel. It was like 5 minute walking distance from hotel.  There is Starbucks just besides McD. We settled our lunch with a good taste of Samurai Pork Burger...YES, PORK! yummy.... Here is a snap shot:

Samurai Pork Burger THB 160

Full and feel contented...We decided to go for strolling along the beach and plan to find a tour for tomorrow. The guys take charge of finding a cheap tour and bargaining all the stuff. The girls...you know what...shops bikini, hat, and all the beachie stuff, getting ready for hot beach summer, yeah!

Strolling at Patong beach

Thumbs up to guys, they managed to find an affordable tour package to Phi Phi Island. Thanks to Ms Cha Cha to gave us such a very good discount, well she SHOULD gave us a more discount! I was truly amazed on how our guys did a bargain. In the end of the day, we got a full day tour package to Phi Phi Island worth THB 1625/pax and ticket to Simon Cabaret THB 550/pax... Good job, boys!

Oh we accidentally found this street food stall nearby our hotel. I am not sure what is the name of this food, but basically it contains glass noodle, fresh prawn, hot dog, crab stick, white fungus, vegetable, etc.....mixed with the special sauce taste like sour and sweet.

Salad glass noodle THB 100

Okie, It's time to be wild! yeay! We were fetched by tuk tuk in front of hotel at 7pm, the show starts at 7.45pm. I feel super duper excited to go to Simon Cabaret. Looking at the poster outside building, I was thinking to myself, these transsexual creature are much prettier than me! Jealous! Their skin complexion, boobs, hot legs, OMG! I was truly amazed on how plastic surgery can transform human and their life, interested to get a nose job, eh!? Here is a snap shot:

Before the show

The prettiest

After the show, all these pretty ladies will line up at the exit door. Like to take picture with them? Yes, you can do it, with your own camera, just give them tips of average THB 40 per pose...At first I wanted to take with one of the ugliest yet the funniest actress lining up behind, but end up took picture with 2 actress, cost me THB 100 for a pose. Argghhh, got kiss (on the cheek, okie!?) somemore wtf. I wouldn't be so stupid to upload that photos here.

Then dinner time, we settled our dinner in a nice restaurant number 6. The food was so so, well... it was late at night and we were all starving...Finish the dinner at around 11 plus, it started to rain...I was tempted to walk in the rain. First night in Patong, walking in the rain in the middle of the night...sounds a good idea, eh?  But I hold my crazy idea after I spotted a walking aunty sell raincoat. So I bought the pink one which cost THB 50. Walking back to hotel, passing by Bangla Road in the middle of the rain, then home sweet home. I was very tired so I slept very quickly after a nice warm shower. Not to forget, pray before Lord and gave thanks to Him for today's journey. :-)

The end of day 1. To be continued.

TRUE LOVE

I've been into J-Dorama recently. I watched Code Blue 2 last night. :-D

The drama is about a group of junior doctor working in the university hospital. Lazy to explain the whole story, but this drama absolutely without fail force me to standby tissue paper, hehe…highly recommended!! :-D

An episode which is the scenario like this:
There is a man hospitalized in ICU, badly head injured. It turns out that the cause of his head injury is because this man had an argument with his wife; his wife threw an ashtray as an act of angry, yet didn’t expect that the ashtray hit husband’s head pretty badly. So husband had to go thru lots of check-up such a CT scan to see if his brain is okay, not damage, etc…
Because of this incident, they found a deadly tumour in husband’s brain. The tumour is located nearby a part of brain which controls human’s memory. (Don’t know what is the name and not sure whether is it really exists!?).
There are two options to treat the tumour. 1st:  husband has to undergo major operation to remove tumour but there is a high risk that husband will lose his memory. Meaning all memory loss include memory of his wife, his life, everything.
2nd: husband can go to chemotherapy, no memory loss but there will be a high risk that the tumour will relapse quickly.
The doctors informed them about these 2 options and indirectly recommend the safest treatment which is the first option (undergo operation but high risk of memory-loss)
To cut short the story, this patient chose the first option. When signing surgery's consent letter, the wife shared on how they both two met last time. It was a love first sight and after they met for 2 days ONLY, with shaky leg (meaning very nervous), husband proposed to wife.  Husband said, “ I know that it’s been ONLY 2 days since I knew you but I would like to spend my life with you, would you marry me? “. And the wife said, “Yes. “ Then here they are until now, after ups and downs they ARE still together. Teary eyes, the wife is afraid even if the operation is successful, her husband will not remember a thing about her.
After operation, the husband really can’t remember single thing about his wife. When wife asked, “Do you know me?” Husband replied, “Who are you?” . Hearing that kind of answer, wife broke into tears hysterically but still remains faithful taking care of her husband for few days in hospital.

There is a scene when the doctor met the wife in the aisle of hospital room, asking how her husband’s condition. With teary eyes, wife said, “No, he doesn’t recover his memory, but I will faithfully taking care of him, till the rest of my life and waiting for the moment when he recover and remember about me again.” (Me began teary eyes). Then the husband in wheelchair, passed by them very slowly. The husband stopped his wheelchair and turned his head back, looked at the wife and said, “Hi, Miss A... (arrghh couldn’t remember the wife’s name) I know that you’ve been very good woman and take care of me these few days. I know it’s only 2 days since I met you and It’s a little bit too much…….(with shaky leg, very nervous like long time ago when he proposed his wife for the first time)  but I want to spend the rest of my days with you, would you marry me?”
Suddenly, the wife broke into tears again. Said, “Yes”, hugging the husband tightly.  End of story.
Crazy…I cried like crazy, I was thinking, this is really TRUE LOVE, man… Human will change, character will change, and situation will change, UPS AND DOWNS…. but one thing for sure…..TRUE LOVE WILL NEVER CHANGE. Even if husband has no memory about his wife at all after such a major operation...But his love really true! I know you must be thinking, Crazy, Deb…It’s only drama…what!? Hahaha…

Bad Beauty Habit

Hi, first of all TGIF!!

I am wearing a vintage dress ( birthday gift from Chin and friends) plus do a simple ponytail with hair pin ( birthday gift from Nita, thanks sis!) to office today. It's still early in the morning ( I am writing this blog at morning time) and I've already gotten fews good compliments from colleagues, haha... add to my narcissism spirit...yes of course I am pretty everyday, but today I even prettier..:-) For Cripe's sake, you all must've been irritated when reading this post! hahaha.....

Btw, let's talk about bad habits...err...bad beauty habits....I have some, proudly admit it as I am imperfect women and after my confession, hopefully I can fix these asap. Let's get started!

1. Rubbing my eyes every second.

YES! every second....crazy anot! not exactly every second but I really rub my eyes most of the time, in office, in toilet, in pantry, in school, in house, in bathroom, basically everywhere! I dont know why but I just like to rub it so i think to myself, I've got to do something! Oh FYI, rubbing eyes too harsh will lead to premature wrinkles and sagging...And I dont want that to be happened. I mean we are human, are fighting with time but I want to prolong it as lonnngg as I can...go away wrinkles...go away sagging skin....

How to tackle this: is to wear eye make up...mascara and eye liner basically..Wearing eye make up such as mascara and eye liner will prevent me rubbing my eyes. :-) The reason is because I dont want to mess my eye make up or creating a bloody *smooky eye*, hehehe.... But sometimes I do lazy to wear eye make up in the morning. As people say less is beautiful....so I stick to less. (what an excuse!)

2. Cleansing my face after whole day make up.

I used to use clarisonic ( refer to previous post) but recently too lazy to use it. So I stick with my lovely Fancl Cleansing Oil and facial wash only.  Well, I have to use my clarisonic again...please please otherwise hundred bucks of *washing*face*machine* will go such a waste...

How to tackle this: I was thinking to put my clarisonic in the bathroom...well after think again, especially about how germs and bacteria would grow and spread up easily ( not only toilet bowl, you know! It's everywhere even in water basin) I hold the idea of that....see..guys, any suggestion?

3. Brush and Floss teeth

Such an embarrasing confession...But to admit it ( if not admit it then how to fix it!?)
From day 1 I was born until now, I only brush teeth once in the morning. And now, I've got to hold on to myself and start to brush teeth at least twice a day and floss once a week...or floss once in every other week.

How to tackle it: Discipline.

4. Deep cleansing brushes.

I have been religiously clean my brush after every application in the morning....Thanks to Sephora spray brush cleaner its just take less than 2 minutes to clean my brush. This product deserve a post for itself so I'll talk about this later. But how about deep cleansing my brushes? Well, I used to do deep cleansing to my brushes especially for those brushes use every day like kabuki brush and eyebrow brush. Then this practice has been on and off blame all to my busy schedule :-(

How to tackle it: For Cripe's sake, I still trying to find brush guard in Singapore but couldn't find any...This weekend I try to buy online and see how it goes. Hopefully by buying brush guard will motivate me to wash my brush every week, hehe....what an efforts!

5. Using Sunblock

I've been using sunblock on and off...It's true...ON and OFF. great job, Deb.
What I normally do is, after take shower in the morning, go to bedroom , wear my clothing, and see outside window whether it is hot anot. If sunrise very brightly, I'll use sunblock as a base of make up. If clouldy, I'll skip that (just use moisturizer only). So the steps are like this:

- Sunny day: Toner, Moisturizer, Sunblock, loose powder.
- Cloud day: Toner, Moisturizer, loose powder.

My bad! eventhough I know that the sun rays still reflect and damage my skin even if its cloudly, but I really dont like the sticky feeling of wearing sunblock. Moreover sunblock will break me out. It'll slowly and easily block my pores, my pores cant breath, and as a result cause pimples. That is the reason why I don't like wearing sunblock.

How to tackle: apply thin layer of sunblock and dust lots of loose powder to even out the sticky feeling. lols...Btw, the benefit of sunblock is to prevent freckles and pigmentation caused by sun- All girl's enemy.

Here I am proudly tell everybody what my bad beauty habits are. So how about your's? Are you brave enough to admit and turns a new leaf (in the name of beauty)?

English speaker!?

Sometimes I feel silly when communicating with Giselle...As many of you know, I am Indonesian so English is my second language...On the other hand, Giselle's first language is English...hmm well, Singlish, to be honest!!!

So here is the conversation goes:

Here we are after shopping at Fox Plaza Singapura, We've gotten $10 card voucher. yeay!! Giselle was so happy ( just wondering if she really understand what the voucher is) and wanted to take the voucher physically by her hand.

G: Mummy, I want to take the voucher.
M: Hmm okay (giving it to her) ...don't loose it, okay? ..... ( pause awhile, think is it "loose" the correct verb?)
M: Giselle, don't lose it, okay!? (change from "loose" to "lose")
G: .... ( seems don't really understand)....
M: ....
G: Mummy, Do you mean, don't drop it, is it??
M: Ah! well, yess!! ( in my heart, yeah that's the correct word!)

Then here is another conversation , happened when she was still 3 years old. We were in the library with aunt Nia and uncle Velly...Aunt Nia was reading a story book for Giselle and saw there was an elephant picture in the book...

N: Giselle, see what is thisss? ( pointed the elephant's nose picture in the book)
G: Pause awhile, while Me, Nia, and Velly expected that her answer will be elephant's NOSE!!
G: .....
G: This is Elephant's Trunk!!!

Wow!!!
Three of us were quite surprise! We really didn't expect that a 3 year old girl know how to differentiate between NOSE and TRUNK...Quick one in Bahasa, nose= hidung and trunk= belalai.

Well, reached home on that day, I quickly browsed my dictionary again! See what a 4 year old kid can do to me, eh?

clap clap, well done, Giselle!
