Joshua 1: 1-5 Connect Book Discussion

Yesterday our LG was about discussing Connect Book.
This Connect book is a daily devotional book, empowered by the book of Joshua, Nehemiah, and Thessalonians.  And good thing is, this book was given free by Hope Church. (Free one la I like :-D ).
So our small group discussion were discussing about Joshua 1:1-5. To give you a rough idea, Joshua is an appointed leader by God, after the death of Moses. He is ordered to lead his people into God’s promises land. So Joshua is like Moses's apprentice or stuff like that. Soon after reading the whole passage, there are 3 questions which very interesting. But in this post I’ll only share 2 yah…Stay tune....

1.   Consider how God is speaking to you today about taking ownership of the leadership role He has placed you recently? ( O_0)
Here is the Simplified question: How do you know that this leadership calling is from God? How to recognize God’s voice?
According to my leader, Its basically about how is your communication skill with God. How often you talk to God and how deep you know about God? Are you always busy with daily task and forget about devotional time? Are you always involved God in everyday life so that you can be sensitive enough to hear God’s voice/ command?
Conclusion is, every people have different kind of ways in communicating with God. It can be advice from your leader, it can be from your devotional quiet time, and it can be from God’s sign in everyday life. So be true to yourself.

2. How do you overcome the overwhelming feelings that sometime come when taking on a new ministry, etc despite knowing that its task from God?
Simplified question: How do you overcome fear when taking on His calling, ex: taking up new ministry, church planting, mission trip, etc...
For me personally, I will hold on into His promise. Knowing the truth that God’s plan is good, is good enough for me to do whatever He wants me to do. True enough, it was confirmed again when Ufong said, God will never test you whatever beyond your power.
Another friend had a different opinion, they just surrender to God and do whatever God ask them to do. Do-ers rather than Think-ers. Good enough. Again I emphasize, every people have different kind of ways / style so be true to yourself.

How I love this kind of interactive discussion about Word of God/ Bible verse which really extremely exciting! I close my post with this verse. Joshua 1: 9, “Do not be afraid, do not be discouraged. For the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Amen.

Herbal Remedies for Headache

I have been suffering from severe headache lately. Not exactly severe but it always relapse weekly. Well, I can say, always in the week-end (Saturday- Sunday). As far as I remember, there was once I have been taking Panadol up to 8 tablets a day and yet the pain is still freaking there. I just wondering what happened to my brain!?

According to Dr. Oz there are three types of headache:  (not sure which episode- it was broadcasted on Channel 5 lately)

 1. Tension headache.
The muscles around forehead are tightened and extremely stiff, continue all the way down to neck area. The culprit is lack of sleep and stress. How to prevent, of course, improves quality of sleep and reduce stress. How to cure, in medical point of view, aspirin is the fastest and bestest way to cure headache, but we all agreed it's not wise to always depend on aspirin like 24/7. Instead of aspirin, we can try to take herbal remedies such as ginger tea or peppermint tea. It’ll help to reduce as well as benefit to digestion, too.

2. Cluster Headache.
Pain looks like many needles pocking into eye-area. The symptoms are teary-eyes, runny-nose, and uncomfortable precise-ache around eye-area. Dr. Oz never mentioned a thing about prevention but do staying in front of monitor without taking a break is one of the main reasons. He recommends rubbing capsaicin cream inside nose. Not sure what capsaicin cream is, but for Chinese, normally we used to rub medicated oil into our temple area. I think it works the same way. :-D

3. Migraine.
Okie for this one, I don’t think you need the exact explanation as most of us do experience migraine, rite? But migraine usually accompanied by a throbbing and painful feeling, which only at one side of head. Normally, we will be very hypersensitive to light and sound. Taking herbs, feverfew (it’s a kin of sunflower) will help to reduce inflammation and eased the pain.

So I think for my case, my headache-ness is categorized into the first one, tension headache. To prevent it, I have to tell myself to RELAX and try to SLEEP early. REDUCE STRESS as much as possible. I consider drinking chamomile and peppermint tea for creating a soothing feeling. I even store my pillow-spray besides my pillow. So every time I feel difficulty to fall asleep, just spray it throughout pillow and feel the scent until it brings me to La La Land. Zzzzz….
Okie… How about your’s?

Count God's Blessing

TGIF!!!!!

I’ve been discouraged lately. Mood swings. Hormones change. Emotional breakdown. Whatsoever….

I don’t know why but I feel like doing nothing. Lazy to socialize. Meeting friends wtf.

These days I really enjoy myself pretty much. Busy-ing myself with just to work, do work-out, go home, study, listening to radio till sleepy calls. The next day repeat the same activity again. Proudly I admit that I am a loner. I prefer to stay at home rather than hang out with friends.  If I need to go out, I prefer to be on my own. Doing my own things. I need my own quiet time, my own clarity, and my own space…I think it’s my own way to de-stressed so that the next day I'll able focus on my work.

But having said that, I don’t want to miss the opportunity to count God’s blessing in my life. Especially this week, I have been blessed with a lot of things from God. This week is a blitz week of CISCO and HP. So they throw sponsor free foods for us. The list goes:

Monday-  Free snack Applepie Ritz sponsored by CISCO.
Tuesday-  Free snack Garret Popcorn sponsored by CISCO. Plus I got $100 CapitaMall vouchers from last year Lenovo’s spiff program. Yeah! :-D
Wednesday- Free Frolick Yogurt sponsored by CISCO. Free Lunch & Learn by LG.
Thursday- Free Buffet Tea break sponsored by HP.
Friday- Free Lunch & Learn by CISCO.
This month I’ll get bonus. Can't wait, counting the days!  :-D
Errr....my-so-called-blessings are all about free fooooddddd….Like this how to lose weightttt….Haiz….

Mary Kay Satin Lip Mask and Lip Balm

Mary Kay Satin Lip mask and Lip balm.

What is the benefit of exfoliation?  Exfoliation plays significant part to our skin, to remove dead skin as well as enhance the new skin generated.

Recently, I've been searching up and down to a product which can exfoliate lips. In the internet, there are lots of products and methods on how to exfoliate lips. From the mildest one, such as using honey and sugar to scrub your lips gently. Until the scariest one, such as using toothbrush and rub it into your lips. OMG, how can a person recommend to use toothbrush, a harsh brush of toothbrush to exfoliate a mild gentle lips? Toothbrush is for teeth not lips, please! Do they know that our lip-skin is pretty mild and sensitive!? Be gentle to your skin, okie....

Okay, Been love with this products pretty much! Mary Kay Satin Lip mask and Lip balm.

The lip mask is to exfoliate lips gently and the lip balm to moisturise lips afterwards.

 Packaging

So how to use it?

First, squeeze small amount of product to a Q-tips and apply gently to lips. Leave it for 2-3mins. Your lips will look funny because it looks like there is some white-residue ( its a product, ok don't worry) all over your lips. Here is the lip mask snapshot:

 Lip Mask

Then using wet Q-tips, gently remove the so-called white residue with circular motion. Clean it with wet tissue. Soon after, using the lip balm, squeeze some little amount and apply it to your lips. Believe me, it can moisturise up to 6 hours.

Lip Balm

You can buy separately, but its recommended to buy both because its like a mother and daughter package. :-D  Use both to achieve the best result. I definitely add this as my weekly routine. Healthy and kissable lips can be easily achieved, yeah!

Mother and daughter
Lip Mask $24 and Lip Balm $20
