HK trip- Day 1 and 2

This post is actually overdue.

On Giselle's 6th birthday, I decided to bring her to Hongkong Disneyland. It was her birthday present from me and my sis.

Moreover, we never been to HK before. So it's best opportunity to go there shopping and sightseeing, plus celebrating Giselle's birthday, too!

Day 1. Changi Airport.

So me, Giselle, and my mom fly from Singapore and my sis + her husband fly from Jakarta.
for us, the journey is around 4 hours straight.

Giselle's first post, at Changi T3. Opss don't mistaken.
We arrived early thus have much time to Terminal- hopping

On the Airport Express (from HK Airport to city)

Me and my mom

We reached in the late afternoon and proceed to the hotel. From airport to city, we took Airport express which only 24 minutes to Central. The train's interval is about 10 minutes. After that transit to blue line and alight at Causeway Bay MTR. Our hotel is nearby Causeway Bay MTR, 10 mins walk to Times Square. Day 1 nothing much to do, just eat early dinner nearby hotel, waiting for my sis at the hotel, went to supper together.
Super funny story, I left my mom and Giselle alone in the hotel room and went to supper with my sis and husband, just eat dim sum nearby hotel and it was less than 30 mins. And then found Giselle crying and waiting (with my mom) in front of the hotel, waiting for us! She said, "Mommy, don't ever leave me again, I want to follow you" (with teary eyes)
My mom scolded us so badly, OK OK, I won't leave my daughter again. even going to pee also must bring Giselle along. HAHA. So that's day 1.

Day 2. The Peak and Madame Tussaud

Day 2 we wake up early morning, having breakfast and like most touristy things to do, we proceed to the Peak and Madame Tussaud.
Oh ya in Madame Tussaud, mostly are Chinese/ HK actors and actresses rather than Hollywood. All Hollywood actors of course I remember by my heart and soul lah, but Chinese actor!? I don't even know they exist!

EOS lipbalm, Evolution of Smooth

If you happen to be Miley Cyrus’s fan (or haters), you must’ve known that in one of her video clip, (We can’t stop) , she’s applying egg-shaped lip balm, called EOS. The egg shaped lip balm, extremely cute and fascinating, especially the reaction of other people’s face when applying  this lip balm in the public...

Well, since I’m a lip balm addict somehow now, especially after I was on Accutane treatment last year, I’ve been searching high and low, different kind of lip balm, trial and error. Literally. The past review can be found here and here.

When I found out about this egg shaped lip balm, EOS, in the internet , I was fascinating about the look and packaging . I’ve been trying high and low to search all around Singapore, but not to avail.

During my HK trip, I saw this at Watson, Macau and went berserk. Haha. Wanted to buy all the range but only available Summer Fruit and Sweet Mint only L

Price is HKD 49 (if I’m not mistaken). But if you live in US, you can easily find it at local drugstore or Walgreens at US$ 3.99 (disclaimer: Based on online price) God bless America!

So here’s my review:

Pro:

  • It is 95% organic, 100% natural and paraben and petroleum free.
  • The egg-shaped EOS is somehow (for me) easier to keep it in my bag, easier to find it as well as the shape is egg-shaped not like normal lip balm which I always mistaken as pens or lipsticks. But maybe it’s difficult to bring and put in the pocket (for guys).
  •  The scent. Oh God gracious, mamma mia! the scent! The summer fruit has summer scent (like passion fruity/ floral scent) and Sweet mint has Darlie scent (kidding) well, I mean, like peppermint scent. Moreover, sweet mint has minty/ tingling sensation after apply and I like it so much!
  •  To moisturize lips with this fascinating egg-shaped lip balm and fruity / floral scent is quite a good experience! Even Giselle like it! Sounds gross but I’m sharing lip balm with her! yikes! Oh ya btw, the wax is surprisingly long lasting, even after I drink tons of water many many times. But still, the power of lip balm, still need to re-apply many many times throughout the day.

Cons:
  •  Not yet available in Singapore. Even Sasa oso no carry! Yet! Why oh why!? Sephora pls bring them in!
  • A bit pricey. But for me, HKD 49= SGD 8-9 so it’s still less than SGD 10 and I think it’s justifiable.
  • The formula really that powerful can fix chapped lips. Well my case is actually chapped lips to the max one, very jialat one. So, it does moisturizing but not that powerful as high brand lip balm.

So all in all, people, if you happen to find EOS in Singapore can leave me a comment below, pls!? Or if you happen to go HK pls help me to buy yo! Haha…

2014 New Year's resolutions

I don’t know about you, but what I feel is that, the more age I gain, the less resolution it would be.

Agree?

Or is it just me, maybe I just less and less ambitious? Or maybe almost all my resolutions came true? Or maybe I just keep on repeating the same goals, same thing, so monotone? Or do I get bored of all these things?

Anyway, not much new goals this year, all almost repeating.

Health:

1.     Cough or flu or minor downtime is fine, but God, please protect me from major illness and I really want to be healthy and happy and live 1000 years!
2.     Exercise twice a week, running marathon twice a year.
3.     Medical checkup and keep cholesterol at bay.
4.     Stop Accutane coz I knew it ain’t do good for long terms!

$$$:

1.     Get bonus and favorable salary increment. I know God will provide me.
2.     Saving quarterly. Wise shopper. Creative fashion.

Career:

1.     Stop feeding the negativity at work. The key point is, just do work, 6pm, knock off. Don’t even want to get involved of stupid office politics and complainers colleagues. Don’t sweat over small stuffs.

2.     Training and try a new stuff.
3.     Make solid ground to solid foundation.

Spiritual:

1.     Slide back to God and start to go back to church activities.
2.     Mission trip
3.     Donate blood twice a year (at least until I’m off Accutane)

4.     Make new friends and hopefully, outreach to people without pushing them to the corner.

Education:

1.     Enrolling Conversation class for 5 months, next is planning to enroll N3 prep class + N3 exam on Dec 2014
2.     Try to enroll CC’s classes such as baking, yoga, calligraphy, Spanish, etc…I thought it would be fun.

Relationship:

1.     Will go home on June for a short break.
2.     Call my mom during special events (like Xmas, CNY, and birthday) and send birthday presents for parents. Keep in touch.

Beauty:

1.     I don’t know but I kept on telling myself that I don’t mind using Obagi for the rest of my life, to keep acne at bay but having an idea to take Accutane for the rest of my life is kind of freak me out.

2.     You are what you eat so eat healthily will reflect on your skin, too… agree!?

In addition, I still desire to go vacation, such as going to Hokkaido, Boracay, and Bangkok. Guess what I’ve never been to Bangkok before, hahaha…  I still have long list of countries that I really want to visit. At least, once or twice a year vacation but that’s for different post , ok?

List of gratitude 2013

As we’re approaching year end very soon….here’s my post of gratitude over the past eleven months.

Not only to exercise gratitude to remind myself what were my achievements and disappointments…its good to recap and as well as to witness that God is always faithful, He always be with me during my good times and bad times. Amen.

Here was my 2013's resolutions

Recap and review:

Health
  • Eat healthily :-D
  • Exercise at least once a week: June- October I always exercise twice a week. Nov not really that intense because I busy studied. Dec is the worst.
  • I sleep at least 7 hours a day, not 8 hours. So difficult to sleep especially when catching up The Walking Dead and Vampire Diaries. :-D Haiz...
  • I’m taking vit C (GNC one, 1000MG) every morning. If in the late afternoon, my energy level down, I pop out another tablet for a booster.
  • Medical check-up done in October. All favourably results, except one thing, that one I don’t want to talk about it now. Oh ya my cholesterol level shot up coz I’m taking Accutane. I think now ok already (amen).

$$$
  •  Salary increment: I’ve come to a term that no matter big or small my salary increment, I will never satisfy. Hence next year resolutions, in this area, I will commit unto God, He will provide me no matter how big or small and high or low the increment is. HE WILL PROVIDE ME. AMEN.
  •   Career Enhancement: Did some advance excel training (COMAT), finished but didn’t pass the exam. Nvm, at least I have 1 certificate, hehehe.
  • Anger management: Ok, this area, I completely failed BIG time. Now I admit I addicted to say bad words and scold people. Many things happened and it’s seriously, unavoidable. I really don’t like the feeling of being blamed or scolded or complained, because of other people’s mistakes. It’s like…what!? I am, really, seriously struggling to stay positive in office. I kept telling myself to ignore other people’s sarcastic comments. Stop feeding the negativity. And just do work. 6pm knock off. Constantly struggling. Lord, I need help!

Spiritual

  • All completely failed BIG time. I didn’t tithing, I didn’t read books, I didn’t attend discussion. I complaint BIG and LOTS of time. There was one period of time I rather skip church activity and do my own shit. But now I slowly sliding back…to God. Very tired hor become Christian.
  • On the contrary, now I can pray in English and slowly, maybe I can do some contribution to the community.

Education
  • enrolled and studied and bleed and passed the exam! Yippie! I’m a survivor of Advance Course now! :-D

Relationship/ family.
  • HK trip- the posts will be on January.
  •  Keep in touch with Jakarta family. I did balik kampung once a year and sometime facetime/ call my mom to update.

Beauty

  • Hydrates: I drink tons of water ok? Camel camel….
  • Ok, I cannot take collagen because it breaks me out (face and pocket….literally) so I stopped. Middle of this year I took Accutane and I’m good now…Thanks Obagi and Accutane!
  • Another 1 more year of my braces journey. I will be cool by next Oct…hehehe!

More achievements:

  •  Not only travel to HK, I managed to get holidays 4 times! April went to Japan, July went to Jakarta, October went to Bandung, and Dec went to Hongkong. Meaning to say, I’ve visited Disneyland two times in a year! ;-D
  • Catch Santana's live concert on March
  • Bought new semi-DSLR camera on March
  • Donate blood for the very first time. Give blood, Save lives.
  • Bought Kate Spade tote bag (and also purse, soon soon soon :-D ) The wisest shopping that I’ve ever done so far. Coz I used Taka voucher and paid few bucks by cash.
  • Middle of this year, my face breaks out pretty badly. No matter how much I tried to clear it, tons of treatments topically but it still breaks out. So I decided to go to derma to cure permanently. Within 3 months, it improved tremendously and as I’m writing this, I’m on maintenance phase and still going on…..here's the post
  • Catch Matchbox 20's Live concert It was so magical!
  • First marathon  in 2013. Finished 10km without dying!
  •  Educate Giselle to behave well. No shout No beat. I try to control myself and always telling her gently and softly, even when she’s fault. Big or small. It’s still fault. Instead of going berserk, kids need to be told gently. Believe me, it will work like magic, rather than shouting lose your cool in front of your kids… Anyway, she will be P1 student next year how fast time flies!
Ok, that's that! Till next year!
